Mindfulness is an ancient practice that is used to be present, aware, conscious of self & environment without judgment. I know it may sound a little odd but the practice of mindfulness has amazing research to back the effectiveness of this practice. Mindfulness and anxiety are a good fit because anxiety is the overload of life ruminating within our brains. In other words, our minds can become revolving doors constantly thinking about what gives us anxiety. Mindfulness helps to stop the revolving door so you can get out. Mindfulness is as simple as eating to deep meditation. Mindfulness brings your awareness to the present moment or one singular thing to draw your focus on one fixed mark. If you feel anxious, pop a mint into your mouth. Feel the texture. Notice the taste. Notice the movement of your mouth. This may seem weird but it pulls your attention away from the anxiety. it gives you a moment of peace!
That's just one example of many things that can be done. If you want more exercises, click on the activities tab & then mindfulness.
